
In this introductory seminar the basics of low light equipment selection will be discussed. Topics include the history and use of flashlights, a discussion of photonics and related terms, pistol-mounted light sources, and support equipment. Students will be taught techniques to effectively search, navigate, identify threats and engage these threats, when necessary, in a low light environment. Seminar includes classroom and range work.
Class size is limited to eight (8) students. You must pay for class upon registration for the event. Non-payment will result in registration cancellation.
Students need to know and demonstrate safe gun handling, weapon system familiarity, foundational marksmanship skills, and working from a holster.
Students failing to meet and maintain our safety requirements and/or who cannot meet and immediately demonstrate the minimum skills required for the specific class may be removed from training. Please ensure you have read through the class description and fully understand our prerequisites before registering.
Equipment List
- Pistol in one of the following calibers: .380, 9MM, .357SIG, ,38SPL, .40S&W, or .45ACP (no other calibers allowed) (semi-auto center fire pistols only – revolvers or .22 caliber pistols are not allowed)
- 3 magazines
- 200 rounds ammunition (available to purchase at store if needed)
- Dominant side, hip-mounted holster or dominant side, belt-mounted holster
- Holster Requirements:
- Must completely support the pistol.
- Must not collapse once drawn.
- Must fit properly to the belt.
- When holstered, the trigger guard must be completely covered.
- Must be oriented in a safe direction for drawing.
- “Trigger Finger” style retention devices are not permitted.
- Must be able to draw and holster one-handed; Support hand cannot be utilized.
- Holster compliance is at the discretion of the Instructor.
- Holster Requirements:
- Magazine/ammunition pouches
- Handheld flashlight
- Weapon mounted light with suitable holster (optional)
- Sturdy Belt at least 1.5″ wide
- Footwear suitable for movement and turning
- Casual, comfortable civilian clothing suitable for training in any weather
- Wraparound eyewear, polycarbonate lenses or non-shattering prescription glasses
- Ear protection

If you have to cancel attending a course you are registered for, you may opt to transfer to another course that has openings within the calendar year provided you give 7 days notice of the cancellation.
No-Call/No-Show: Participants who do not show to the event without prior 7 days notice forfeit their deposit.
